Stillwater was a southern rock band that was briefly active in both the late 1970s and the late 1990s. Not to be confused with the band of the same name from the 2000 film "Almost Famous", this Stillwater was real. So real, in fact, that the makers of said film had to ask the band members for permission to use the name (which lead to a small amount of renewed interest in the genuine article, leading to a reunion and new album just before the film's release). 1998's "Runnin' Free" is the band's third and final album, released a whole twenty years after "I Reserve The Right!" While this album follows after its predecessors in that it wasn't particularly successful, it's vintage Stillwater from the first note to the last. Supposedly the band still gets together at least once a year to play shows in their home town to this day.
