Christopher - 1970 - Holy Grail of Heavy Acid Rock, US, very rare $1400

Here it is one of the `Holy Grails` of USA Heavy Psych Rock, so hard to find this first issue, on the obscure USA Label `Metromedia`, here it is for you in all it`s glory! A copy sold in April 2015 on ebay for 936 British Pounds showing it`s rarity, not sure how many copies were actually pressed I have heard estimates of just 200 which would be amazingly small for a USA Pressing - see my other World Rarities on you tube, why not subscribe for regular updates

Christopher were an underground acid-rock trio featuring future Josefus drummer Doug Tull. They evolved from United Gas, a psychedelic band from Houston who rubbed shoulders with legends like The 13th Floor Elevators and Moving Sidewalks. After relocating to Los Angeles, where they changed their name to Christopher, they played at numerous biker parties and recorded their sole album in 1970 for the Metromedia label. It's an amazing example of West Coast psychedelia/acid-rock featuring strong fuzz-wah guitar, great compositions and superb musicianship. One of the Holy Grails of American psychedelic-rock and the rarest album originally released by the collectable Metromedia label.
The sleeve design was taken at the headquarters of the Barons of Earth (a motorcycle gang the band had ties with). The round room was used In the opening scene of Peter Fonda's film "the trip".
